At age 2, while watching a video of virtuoso Joshua Bell, Emily Anne asked to learn the violin. From that point on, she fell in love with music. From her initial training under Corina Brito in the Suzuki method, she developed a keen ear and sound fundamental technique. Today, she plays Bach, Vivaldi, and Mendelssohn, amongst others, and has a refined repertoire in both classical and popular music. She is currently studying under master violinist Justin Bruns, Associate Concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
Along the way, Emily Anne picked up a love for the piano. Initially intended to be a supplement for her violin training, she found that her fingers danced up and down the keys with ease as she progressed rapidly through her lessons. Piano training under Derek Vann continues to round out her understanding of the musical world.
Most recently she has begun to try her hand at composition. Beginning with a concerto and a hymn, she has since developed quite the portfolio of music pieces, including her first symphony. Currently under the instruction of ASO bassist and composer Michael Kurth, Emily Anne continues to explore new realms in music theory and creativity.
